Thanksgiving

First of all, I’m miserably behind on blogging.  I’m working on catching up so be prepared for a ton of blogs, in no type of chronological order, dating all the way back to mid-October.  Maybe one day I’ll figure out how to be a mom of 2 kids and stay on top of everything.

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving.  I love this time of year and all the family time.  We have some really fun traditions, but are also changing every year with the addition of new in-laws and children!  We usually gather at my parents’ house on Wednesday night for dinner and the annual viewing of National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation.  We can quote the whole movie, but still look forward to watching it every year.  The lines from this movie pop up very frequently in family conversations year round.  Rachel and I decided to do some crafting this year during the movie.  This served 2 purposes…keeping us awake during the movie AND fulfilling our need to craft.  Project #1 was making some hair bows for our pretty girls.

Brynlee is very interested in Gabriella.  She loved crawling over and watching her while she was in her seat.  I see a very special bond between these two lasting a lifetime 🙂

Reuben had to get in on the action so he crawled in the seat and asked to hold “Brynee Jean.”  Poor Brynlee’s name has morphed over the last few months, thanks to Reuben.  He first called her “Baby B,” then it turned into “Baby Jean,” and now it’s “Brynee Jean.”  Her middle name is Anne, but we all call her Brynlee Jean now.  The same thing is happening to Gabriella.  He calls her Belle Ella, and that name has stuck, too 🙂

Neal was properly initiated into our McNamara family Christmas by having Reuben crawl all over him during the movie.  I have a picture of Reuben doing this to Chad last year.

Auntie Shan got some quality snuggle time in with Gabriella.  It’s so nice to have all the extra help when we’re spending time with family!

Here’s a picture of our bows.  I was so pleased with how they turned out!  Who knew I would fall in love so quickly with the fun of accessorizing a little girl?!?

Meanwhile in the livingroom…Chad was offering to fly Reuben, but he wasn’t too sure about it.  So, Neal offered to show Reuben how it’s done.

Nick and Gabriella sat quietly, taking it all in…

After seeing Chad and Neal’s wonderful demonstration, Reuben was confident to give it a try!

On Thanksgiving morning, we all helped out in the kitchen.  Reuben got to help Auntie Ray Ray make a Butterfinger pie.  He did a great job crushing up the candy.

He also helped Ray Ray mix up the filling for the pie.

Gabriella had a nice, relaxing spot to watch all of the cooking madness.

Reuben and Brynlee took a break from all the cooking and went to the park with Nick and Chad.  They had lots of fun despite the chilly weather.  Brynlee took this opportunity to sport her fashionable winter hat.

…and she passed out within minutes of returning from the park.

After lunch was done, Nick took Reuben home for a nap, and I stayed back for more crafting with Rachel.  Our 2nd project was making matching Christmas shirts for the girls.

I did a terrible job of documenting our Thanksgiving with the Agimudie’s.  I think I was so tired, I forgot to even get my camera out!  After Reuben’s nap, we headed over there for the evening.  We had a great time relaxing, and eating round 2 of Thanksgiving dinner.  I love this pic of Grandpa and his two grandkids 🙂

And on Friday morning, Daddy and Reuben got to go to the TU game while Mommy and Gabriella went back to Cammie’s house to help her decorate for Christmas (one of my favorite things to do).  Reuben LOVES going to the football game!  They had a great time despite the disappointing loss 😦
